Trump Republicans will increase your health insurance premium $17,310 (240%), from $7,225 to $24,535 annually as reward for your hard work of earning $85,000 as a couple in your fifties.
Take the greed and profits out of healthcare and the problem would be solved. Has anyone asked how much of the rise in premiums is profit or profit hidden by upgrading diagnosis for higher reimbursement, submitting claims for services not rendered, denial of care and on and on. I remember non-profit healthcare. It worked just fine then the greed guys came along. Are people just going to ro;; over for delusional don and corrupt corporations?
Because we have an unqualified, incompetent status quo who believes they have the right to be gluttonously rich on people's illnesses. These are those losers working in the insurance industry. BTW. No doctor is worth 7000 dollars. Time for moving.
It is so important that everyone knows this. Readers, please send this article to everyone on your contact list, and ask them to do the same, so that EVERYONE, news reader or not, knows just what is at stake here, and why Dem Reps and Senators are holding tight. Thank you to all, together we will get this done.
Hell people are blessed if they make 85,000 a year I never made that in my entire life! Lucky to receive veteran benefits pray that what little I get is not affected. I know 25,000 for insurance is insane and I pray something can be done about the bbb! I really don’t understand why we’re the only country that doesn’t have free healthcare. This greed is so very sinful! God is Not pleased!!
I'd say straight into the CEO's pockets and quite possibly into Donny Two Dolls as well. Meanwhile almost ALL of the Medicare Advantage plans in VERMONT decided to NOT SERVICE THE STATE except in a few Counties, leaving these people scrambling. Fortunately because of this they get a longer time to select a new MA plan, but there seem to be very few TO CHOOSE FROM. And their major health care system Dartmouth Hitchcock is no longer contracting with SOME plans that seem to actually be available!! This is a foreshadow of other States being left with NO PLANS and possibly only *Regular Medicare* with the monthly premium, the extra $$ for drug plan and the extra $$ for a *MediGap Plan*, and NO vision. Dental or hearing. Insane and this is just the beginning. If you get sick the ReThugs *Plan* is for you to DIE QUICK and purchase a expensive funeral from one of their funeral home chains.
Stay strong Democrats. Do not let the Republicans take away our affordable health care. And all to cover the decrease in tax funds we will receive from tax cuts given primarily to the wealthy. They already have so many tax cuts and loopholes and tax policies that favor the wealthy, the pay far less than the 30% of my income that I pay. We pay the Republicans to serve the American people not just the rich.
I remember the day when first I turned 65 and then my husband, and were now eligible for Medicare. You wouldn't think anyone would be happy to get older, but I was. We were paying $19,000 a year for health care, for a plan that excluded a lot. And this was the best we could do in the pre-Obamacare era. It was getting to a point that paying the premium was all we could do. So I do have empathy for those who will see their premiums go up drastically and for those who will be cut off of their healthcare. Republicans must allow these programs go on. To be without healthcare leaves you so vulnerable. I bet Republicans would be screaming if they didn't have their healthcare benefits, so why can't they see what these programs mean to other people?
Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing. The Republican Party has not changed it's spots. It is the same Party it has always been, the Party of the rich, the Party of moneyed interest, the Party of business (today that means corporatism). Who ever any different has been had. You don't need to be genius to see this. Simply look at the legislation they have passed (shoved down the nation's throat). The Party of the middle and working class is NOT the Republican Party and never has been. Wake up, folks, you have been taken in by a scam. ..
Thank you Sara for correcting the dollar values and subsidy savings even the Democrats are citing incorrectly. Not hundreds of dollars, it's into $10,000 range for single gig workers and others uninsured by employers.
I got a notice on renewals of MA via United and some things for US have gone up slightly like a Specialist went from $25 to $35, which is annoying but not gonna break us. We get a *Helper Plan* for drugs so I don't see much change there, we rarely have a co-pay or if we do I think the highest is my insulin at $105 for a 90, why insulin is counted DIFFERENTLY than other drugs is beyond my comprehension. Same day surgery went up about $50, our monthly flexible spending card amounts went UP (in our favor) about $15. NY pays for our Medicare premium so other programs may vary.
Making 84k a year/2 incomes in 4 family home is slumming it already. (Spkg for a friend)
Too true! That just barely qualifies a single person to rent a decent 1-bedroom apartment in Northern Virginia. I know, I use to live there.
Not making even close to that much money annually. But my premium has gone up 2000% anyway.
Why are they trying to kill off Americans?
this is DISASTER on every level

What on Earth can people do about the increase in healthcare premiums? Where does that money go?

Has anyone with Medicare Advantage gotten new rates yet? Asking for a friend.
