The latest Politicus Podcast was recorded while events in Minnesota were unfolding. The killing of a 37-year-old nurse who was observing and filming has outraged and shocked much of the nation.
Unnecessary loss of life for political reasons has been a trademark of both Trump administrations, and the behavior of ICE directly reflects the mentality of this president.
Trump’s mentality that he can get away with anything has created an entire administration in that image.
Jason said:
There’s the matter of this spreading. And not so much like the militarized ice think spreading the mentality within an administration.
Think about it on the, on the micro level. ICE got away with shooting Renee Good. So now they’ve shot, they’ve killed other people.

It’s the same way of thinking within an administration. If they get away with this kind of action in the area of immigration or law enforcement, they’re going to expand that mentality to other issues.
It doesn’t stop them from making extreme decisions on the economy, and feeling you’re unchecked. So people who think, well, this is just one thing, or illegal immigrants, they’re kind of missing the point. This is an administrative mentality that will expand other areas. It’ll expand to your healthcare. Things that directly impact people that may not be, may not live in a blue city.
It may impact people everywhere.
Sarah responded:
I want to say, because I know you didn’t mean it this way. You were, you were trying to make a point about these people that have been shot and killed. And I just wanna pause for a minute there.
And, you know, every time somebody is killed by this maniac, they need to be honored and their death matters. And it, it matters. To their family, it matters to their friends. It matters to this country because this is an assault on basic humanity. And I think all of us feel that. And I don’t want anybody to get desensitized to that.
Trump Is Out Of Touch And A Great Unraveling Is Coming
Sarah talked about how billionaire trust fund baby Trump has no clue that prices are hurting people:
The thing is, people don’t realize this. Donald Trump literally has no idea that prices are high. He, he doesn’t shop, he doesn’t get his own gas. He doesn’t, he’s never lived in the real world. He’s a trust fund baby. The man has no idea what you all are talking about. And so he dismisses it as criticism.
He literally doesn’t know that this is a real thing. It doesn’t, and even if he somehow figured that out, he would still find a way to tell himself that it’s only his critics. When really, when you look at, see at, even online at who is talking about this stuff, let alone who’s polling, which is more legitimate probably.
