Trump's New Attack On E. Jean Carroll Shows The Danger Posed By A Man Who Never Learns

No Matter How Often He Loses In Court, Donald Trump Attacks E. Jean Carroll

Trump has lost civilly in court to E. Jean Carroll several times. He has millions of dollars in judgments against him, with likely more coming. It is reasonable to expect that Trump, at some point, would change his behavior.

He has not.

Trump posted on Truth Social:

This disgusting Slob, a Democrat Political Operative, is the same guy who funded a woman who I knew absolutely nothing about, sued me for Rape, for which I was found NOT GUILTY. She didn’t remember the year, decade, or much else! In Interviews she said some amazingly “inconsistent” things. Disgraceful Trial—Very unfair. I was asked by my lawyer not to attend—“It was beneath me, and they have no case.” That was not good advice.

The claim that Trump was found not guilty of rape is not true. As Judge Kaplan explained in a later ruling:

And since the jury’s answer to Question 1 demonstrates it was unconvinced that there was penile penetration, the only remaining conclusion is that it found that Mr. Trump forcibly penetrated her vagina with his fingers – in other words, that he “raped” her in the sense of that term broader than the New York Penal Law definition.

And this conclusion is fully supported by Ms. Carroll’s repeated and clear testimony on the digital penetration (more than the penile penetration), Dr. Lebowitz specifically mentioning Ms. Carroll squirming in response to an intrusive memory of Mr. Trump’s fingers in her vagina, and the evidence at trial taken as a whole. It also is bolstered by the amount of the jury’s verdict.

Trump’s refusal to admit a mistake and apologize leaves him incapable of growth. Since Trump doesn’t grow, what America gets is an example of what was on display during his recent town hall with Sean Hannity.

It is the same old Trump, and that mentality is why as we will discuss below, he poses a grave threat to democracy and freedom.
