Trump's Defamation Lawsuit Hits A BBC Brick Wall

The BBC put Donald Trump on his back foot, and with no power over the British broadcaster to abuse, the president has gone too far and may have reached the end of the road.

Donald Trump did this to himself. When Trump made the choice to sue the BBC for defamation, he thought that the lawsuit would never go to court. Whether it is war or defamation lawsuits, Trump’s mentality is that everything is the same.

The military’s action in Venezuela lasted one day, so a war with Iran should end just as quickly. ABC and CBS paid Trump millions through out-of-court settlements, so the BBC will do the same. That is Donald Trump’s thought process.

The BBC hasn’t played that game. The broadcaster saw a huge opening when Trump sued for defamation and claimed financial damages to his business, so the BBC requested Trump’s business records, and the judge granted the request.

 I think it's great. BBC called Trump, Donald Trump's bluff. They had the spine to do that, unlike the media companies here in the United States, and they are winning because of it. They are coming after his January 6th texts. They are coming after exposing the false narrative that he wasn't involved and that he didn't incite January 6th, and he can't get out of it.

So this is exactly where he needed to be. This is what a real media company would've done here in the United States, but they didn't. They, they capitulated to him, um, out of greed and self-protection and self-interest because having him in office is very lucrative for them.

Trump’s BBC lawsuit problems may also put an end to his abuse of defamation claims.
