The BBC Is Crushing Trump In Court, And It Keeps Getting Better
The British broadcaster has won in court. The president has been ordered to turn over his financial records, as the president’s defamation case is causing defeat after defeat.
Trump’s defamation lawsuit attempt to shake down the BBC is on the verge of turning into a very costly mistake. Because the president got away with bogus defamation lawsuits against CBS and ABC that netted him multi-million-dollar settlements, Trump thought that he had found a new golden goose that would allow him to both get cash and manipulate media coverage.
It is clear that Trump never thought that the BBC would fight back, but he made one massive mistake when he filed his latest defamation lawsuit. Trump went after an international broadcaster that he has no ability to bully or power to punish.
Trump’s other mistake was that he sued over footage that the BBC used in a documentary about 1/6.
The Independent reported that the BBC demanded Trump’s personal texts on 1/6, “The BBC has demanded that Donald Trump hand over his personal text messages in a £10bn (£7.5bn) defamation lawsuit over his alleged involvement in the January 6 riots in Washington.”
The BBC had requested the financial records of Trump, his family, and, importantly, his trust that is currently being managed by Donald Trump Jr.
On Friday, the BBC got a huge win against Trump.
