Thoughts and prayers. That's more than Trump and Republicans gave the child victims in Minneapolis.

Because that is their standard line. “Thoughts and prays for the victims.”

Because they actually pray for them! I pray when an ambulance flies past me for the person in trouble and their family. You’ve got jerks in all groups. Don’t lump everyone together.

This is not karma. This is an extreme reaction to personal anger directed toward another with potentially deadly consequences. Being verbally extreme as Kirk is does not serve as a cause for death.

Maybe it's not acceptable, but I'll say it anyway. Didn't he ask for it? Isn't there a saying: "Live by the gun, die by the gun". or maybe it was "sword". Same difference.

He heas never used a gun. He is verbally extreme which does not come with a death sentence. He invites verbally extreme people from other views to debate him. He often wins because he is steadfast in his ideology. THAT IS NOT A CRIME!!!

Way to go Charlie. Put your money where your mouth is.

If he lives he will stand behind that which makes him extreme but not deadly. Do you really think he deserved to be shot in the neck with a high power bullet?????

I'm not a fan of Charlie Kirk but this ongoing violence is unacceptable. I'm tired of hearing "thoughts and prayers." It doesn't matter if the perpetrators have mental health issues or other reasons for gun violence. Congress needs to start working on gun violence legislation. This has been going on for far too long 😪

Exactly what do you want Congress to do that might prevent an anonymous angry man from doing this? Serious question, not snark.

Nancy, that is a complicated question. I don’t have the answers. I’m referring you to an excellent essay from the Prevention Institute. They have some great suggestions. Congress can’t make the changes all at once. Laws need to be passed gradually. https://www.preventioninstitute.org/focus-areas/preventing-violence-and-reducing-injury/preventing-violence-advocacy. Thanks for your comment.

"I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights,” Charlie Kirk said in 2023.

Charlie is telling us not to grieve his death, it's just the price of having guns.

Okay then.

Agreed, I hate violence: Period. I believe in free speech, and will defend everyone’s right to be a bigot or a hater because that is the point of the First Amendment.

That said, my fear is Trump and MAGA will use this to justify their use of federal troops in blue states and this will be a “turning point”; Trump will invoke Emergency powers to suppress democratic speech, especially those of democrats.

It’s amazing how all of the republicans are calling for pray and a moment of silence, while we had republican senators like Mike Lee say that the deaths of the two Minnesota legislators a month ago was a result of leftist Marxism.

Not even one Republican legislator from Minnesota attended the funerals of their colleagues.

Charlie Kirk spent his life vomiting hate. Every word out of his mouth was rot. The only mercy is that his kids will never have to know him, never inherit his stench. Thoughts and prayers.

What's new? This type of violence that has been perpetrated by the likes of Charlie Kirk and his mentor trump and vance and the repub party has come home to roost. No one wants this type of incident to happen. Violence of any kind is unacceptable, but when you sow the seeds, you reap the rewards. We will pray that Charlie Kirk's family are spared more grieve and that he survives so that he can hopefully reflect on why someone would target him.

Reply to Susan P Block. We can have 2nd amendment rights in this country without the mass killings. We common sense gun reform that can accommodate most Americans. It does take compromise though.
