What a terrific insight into the dilemma faced by thoughtful information seekers. Yes, limit the incoming toxicity, take breaks - longer and longer breaks (the "news" will be there with even more details when we return), perhaps calling them a recess (court or playground doesn't matter) and be courageous about holding to it.

We can nurture other parts of our lives, and remember the good feelings when we chose a documentary or movie about real people, real issues, that grow the positive feelings and optimism that are necessary for mental health and positive relationships. Let's not give the would-be-king rivals and their promoters, handlers, any more of our life spaces. Let's live within the implications of the electoral success that we just made.

This piece is one of the news/informational pieces that is reflective, sober, and ultimately uplifting. We CAN control this part of our lives; making decisions about what content comes into our life is similar to voting - it is our individual, private choice, and yet it also impacts the external world, in unknown ways.
