They found for the plaintiff. It's a huge win for all of those who have suffered sexual assault. I'm glad she had the courage to go through with the trial.

Having gone thru an assault & kept quiet about it, I’m eternally indebted to Ms Carroll. Her strength in the face of the vicious attacks by Trump, have been amazing. I’m sure he’s not done yet.

This verdict took extraordinary courage and perseverance by one woman and her legal team to accomplish. It shows that fearless fortitude and conviction can beat a tyrant like TFG. But, E Jean Carroll is not yet done with him. She must win the appeals and find and attach his assets while he continues his assaults and hides assets. Collection will not be easy.

Concurrently, the other prosecutions against him are showing glaring deficiencies in the American legal system and a lack of prosecutorial will in pursuing him vigorously. TFG has intimidated many people in Congress, the legal system, and in State governments across the country by loosing his MAGA attack dogs on them relentlessly. Now a fear of targeted retribution seems to permeate everyone. This fear also speaks to a lack of confidence in our legal system to address and restrain folks like TFG. The Carroll case was fortunate in having a strong no nonsense judge at the helm. His other cases are not as fortunate.

Too bad Biden didn’t nominate Roberta Kaplan to be AG.

Blobbo has to come up with the $83.3 million plus interest and deposit it with the court in order to make any appeal. I doubt he has that much cash on-hand.

Wow. That’s really good news. Without an appeal he’ll just bob and weave until she ties his assets down.

Finally, The Law applies to Donald Trump! Thanks to a brave woman who stood up to this physical and mental abuser and won. This nation owes E Jean Carroll a debt of gratitude for what she has done. I pray that the other prosecutors, juries and judges also stand strong and continue to bring this lawbreaker to justice.

Too bad it wasn’t as much as Rudy’s verdict. Orange Jesus, is this the very first time he has to pay for a crime?

Seems so. But let’s not count our chickens. With an army of low-conscious lawyers he very well might slip away again.😡

Yes, all wins, big wins, important ground work and courtroom management for upcoming cases, a fine example of a U.S. civil court in action. While it is unlikely that money will be forthcoming (unless Ms. Carroll, again, sues, etc.), the high cost to the defendant is political; he is not above the law, it turns out, after all. His world is suddenly smaller, much less protected, and there is more, much more, legal hell yet to come, as well as the ongoing jail sentences for Jan 6 insurrectionists, which will be continuing along with his own criminal trials. Rage, confused sputtering, and insensible tantrums, have become his campaign platform, and perhaps will be his statement to the press, when he loses his criminal trials. Thank you, patient and brave Ms. Carroll, and other women, for making so much possible.

This verdict is a victory for all women, but especially sexual abuse survivors. And a warning to bullies who think themselves too rich and powerful to be held accountable. Thank you, E. Jean Carroll!

If all women who have survived sexual assault had the courage & fortitude of Ms. Carroll, we might well live in an entirely different society. There is no reason for America to be a white male dominated society. That is what scares the hell out of Trump and those in the Republican caucus who support him realize; that their time has passed; that they are losing their ability to call the shots.

The jury's decision reflects that the civil guardrails enshrined into our legal system held, but that is only half the battle. We now need a legal counterpart to strengthen our judicial legal systems against the threat that Trump and his ilk pose.

Brava to Ms. Carroll and her team of excellent attorneys for sticking another stake in the heart of the vampire known as Trump.
