The BBC Crushes Trump's "Emergency Motion" To Hide His Financial Records
Donald Trump is attempting to stop the BBC from getting his financial records as part of discovery in his defamation lawsuit, and the broadcaster's response was crushing.
Just like with the Iran war, Donald Trump chose to start a conflict that he can’t win. Unlike matters of war and peace, Trump’s other conflict of choice is unfolding in a Florida courtroom where he has chosen to sue the BBC for $5-$10 billion over footage they used in a documentary of the president speaking before the 1/6 attack.

Trump claimed that his businesses have been financially damaged. The BBC asked for his personal financial records, which are being held in a trust while he is president. The judge ruled that Trump must turn over the financial records.
The president’s lawyers responded by filing an emergency request for a stay, as they claimed that the BBC’s subpoena was overly broad and the British broadcaster was trying to use discovery for its own financial gain.
The false claims of an emergency have become standard procedure for Trump as president. Trump tried to claim that immigration was a national emergency. Trump once tried to claim that his border wall was a national emergency.
Anytime Trump is not getting what he wants, or might be forced to do something that he doesn’t want to do, it becomes an emergency.
In response to Trump’s filing, the BBC shattered Trump’s claims of an emergency.
