Rachel Maddow pointed out that Trump is firing people with standing in the military and federal enforcement for what she suggests is a potential repurposing.
If we discard the polite language for a moment the reality is completely clear that we are in a struggle for survival of humanity. Not just in this country but the world. It feels overwhelming to face this reality but we must.
The media is completely complicit in the dumbing down of Americans, and helping to promote the POS DICKtator trump. It's disgusting. Thank goodness for true, honest journalists like Rachel.

The constitution is only fool-proof if we pay attention to it and follow the rules it lays out! There were enough “God-fearing“ human beings in those days to believe that following, it was important!

Trump is demoralizing the military. Most members are probably too scared to question their leaders orders. If they can not prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that an order is illegal, they just ended their career. Even if they have the proof, they are shunned for years to come, promotions pass them by, and future duty assignments are the worst of the worst. Protection for whistle blowers? Doesn't exist.
I don't think that the military will turn on the people. Actually, I think it is going to go the other way, and Trump will be arrested with the rest of his cabinet for High Treason.
I think what's equally important is what Ali Velshi mentioned in the next hour: that by large, national Democratic Party figures have been largely silent. People should also be asking why that is.
Of course Rachel is correct. She is a sharp and candid observer. If we have any hope of saving our country, of getting back to our remarkable protection of human rights and human dignity, we will have to exercise, remarkable truth-telling, integrity, and courage. We have got to beat back Trump and his minions. I’m an old lady now, but I’m praying every day that we will be able to do it.
I appreciate Rachel calling out the potential outcomes of arming the cities and differentiating those outcomes from stated pretext. (Not crime fighting, but boots on the ground). The outcome not discussed is the use of the insurrection act to suspend elections. Boots on the ground can make that happen. D.C. is a test case.
