I am happy to see Barr tell the TRUTH for a change. The committee should also subpoena Merrick Garland and ask him why he didn’t pursue an indictment of Trump for raping children! Merrick the Meek was USELESS as AG!!!

They did subpoena Garland, but not for the reason you state. Committee Republicans are attempting to assist Trump by blaming Garland for the Epstein files.----Jason

Weren’t the files being withheld due to the Maxwell case as well? I thought I saw something that the files were not available until early 2024?

As little of the truth as he could get away with … he’s still trying to play the power game.

The problem is, he is a Republican, and JB, being the honorable man he did not interfere. Garland a also a member of The Federalist Society.

Whoa! Did not know that. Maybe SCOTUS wasn’t the place for him after all.

I think all administrations are accustomed to hiding whatever they want to save face and these extraordinary circumstances have blown a lot of their habits to smithereens. I do believe the GOP massively more corrupt when it comes to democracy.

Not true.

"The Federalist Society, known for supporting conservative and libertarian legal scholars and judges, played a significant role in the Senate’s opposition to Garland’s nomination. Garland’s moderate stance on legal issues made him an unlikely ally of the Federalist Society, further cementing the perception that he was not aligned with the group’s views. Throughout his career, Garland has remained unaffiliated with the Federalist Society, preferring to maintain a more centrist approach to legal interpretation."

Thank you for clarifying. He is a loser anyway. He could have helped him put Trump behind bars or at least prevented him from running again.

Barr was Trump’s consigliere; his Cromwell. He visited Epstein days before he died. Barr is complicit with whatever Trump was up to. The Epstein files need to be released NOW!

"To date, there is no evidence that Trump committed a crime,..." There is testimony by victims. Isn't that a type of evidence?

Expand full comment
KaijaJo's avatar

💯 it’s time to start listening to the victims. Women generally don’t report because of victim blaming and behavior protecting the rapist. No woman want to put herself through that …the fact that his victims have spoken out is telling. I don’t think there should be any doubt about his guilt

It's pretty rich to say of a convicted felon that "there is no evidence that Trump committed a crime"...

There is *currently* no smoking gun showing Trump is a serial child rapist, but that has yet to be determined since the files have not been released.

The media and the American people must keep the peddle down hard on Epstein. 💩King Trump is flummoxed, flailing and failing to put this mess behind him.

If he was clean-ish (he’s never clean), he’d have danced his way clear by now. He IS that malevolently talented.

He, and many other rich guys, did dreadful things. He’s no better or worse.

What he is doing, is keeping the truth from the public. That’s the branch that breaks and the POS crashes to the ground. It’s not the crime, it’s the cover up.

We’re close to pulling this asshole down.

No quarter, no surrender.

If Trump has nothing to hide, release the Epstein file, and not in pieces but everything all at once. Bill Barr won't protect Trump, and doubt anyone will once they are under oath. So does Trump think we will lose interest because he is playing games with us? I don't think so, we are in this for the long haul, until the files are released.

Garland was the best friend the criminals of the Republican Party ever had. If he had been created by Hollywood for the role he couldn't have been made any more weak kneed and acting like being under the table and dreaming was his JOB. He let Drumpf go scot free over J6, he never even looked at Epstein and Maxwell in a timely manner, he let the J6 prisoners linger for YEARS so most of them served a minimal sentence if at all. Barr was no better in different ways, and why is he only NOW speaking out under duress about his knowledge of the Epstein case?

I’d lay odds saying FBI, CIA, some on both sides of the government, Heads of States, members of the Supreme Courts. The Elites. Lay it wide open we would probably run into child trafficking too. They are not about protecting the innocent.

I always wondered about that (what I thought was weird) 'Pizzagate' conspiracy theory regarding Democrats. Then I thought, if the Republicans (especially the felon) are accusing someone of doing something, it's because THEY are doing it.

Yep. Why would you spend so much time and effort covering up nefarious activity if you were indeed innocent? Release the files!!

Andrea Tuthill 🇺🇸🏴🇮🇷🇨🇦's avatar

It was the same with getting him to trial for J6 and classified docs cases. If you’re innocent why throw everything at the wall to see what delays you can create. If you’re innocent, go to trial and get it over with
