The activities in courtrooms in Georgia, Florida, and New York sent a clear message to the American people.
Don’t count on us to stop Donald Trump.
The ruling in Fulton County, Georgia, was fair. Judge McAfee ruled that Fani Willis would not be disqualified, but to avoid the appearance of impropriety, Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade had to step down.
Meanwhile, in Florida, Judge Aileen Cannon refused to dismiss the federal criminal charges in the Trump classified documents case, but still hasn’t set a trial date.
On the surface, both of these rulings are good news for the concept of holding Donald Trump accountable for his actions, but courts are also revealing that by systemic design, they are unable to do the job necessary to stop Donald Trump from returning to the White House.
