The U.S. is devolving into a brutal, dystopian Handmaid’s Tale nightmare for women and girls.

A Physicians for Human Rights study on the results of the overlapping and confusing abortion laws in Oklahoma post Roe uncovered an alarming policy to use a woman’s body as an incubator in case of an emergency, with no regard to the woman’s life.

Women’s bodies used as incubators - does this sound like freedom?

The study got varying responses from hospitals while using “simulated patient” methodology to determine how patients were actually being treated post Roe (my emphasis):

  • One hospital representative claimed: “If the situation is truly life-threatening, decisions will be made,” without explaining how those decisions would be made or by whom.
