Woman Stops ICE Mid-Racial Profiling

A woman stopped ICE from what appeared to be racially profiling in downtown Los Angeles, chasing them down while recording and yelling at them about the temporary restraining order.

A woman stopped ICE from what appeared to be racially profiling in downtown Los Angeles, chasing them down while recording and yelling at them about the temporary restraining order.

“DHS/ICE caught red-handed trying to kidnap a man in Union Station. The man believes he could have been mistaken for someone else and racially profiled while waiting for his commute,” an Instagram post from user defendmesoamericanculture reads about video dated 8:05 PM at the Union Station on July 29, 2025.

The man she appears to have saved from ICE thanked her on Instagram, “If it wasn’t for you I don’t know where I would be right now.”

She replied, “EL PUEBLO UNIDO JAMAS SERA VENCIDO” which translates means ‘the people united will never be defeated.’

The woman is referring to the court order initiating a temporary restraining order prohibiting the federal government, including DHS, from its “unlawful actions in Los Angeles and surrounding counties.”

These unlawful actions include stopping individuals without reasonable suspicion and prohibits them from using racial and ethnic profiling.

The ACLU explained “a federal court found that the federal government’s ongoing immigration raids in Southern California and its denial of access to counsel for arrested immigrants likely violated the Constitution, and issued two temporary restraining orders (TRO) prohibiting the federal government, including the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), from continuing its unlawful actions in Los Angeles and surrounding counties.”

“The first TRO bars immigration agents from stopping individuals without reasonable suspicion and from relying on four factors – alone or in combination – including apparent race or ethnicity; speaking Spanish or English with an accent; presence in a particular location like a bus stop, car wash, or agricultural site; or the work the person does. The second TRO orders DHS to provide access to counsel on weekdays, weekends, and holidays for people who are detained in B-18, the federal building in downtown Los Angeles.”

The DHS under President Trump has ceased the most basic rights of due process and right to counsel, which in and of itself is an attack on the America Trump and his supporters claim to champion.

Trump has not suspended basic individual freedoms out of some concern about criminals; after all, he himself is a convicted felon and is the son of immigrants.

Trump let 17 relatives of El Chapo into the U.S.. In May, family members of Sinaloa Cartel leaders crossed into the U.S. based on a deal with the Trump administration, confirmed by Mexican Security Secretary Omar García Harfuch.

“While it does not take a federal judge to recognize that marauding bands of masked, rifle-toting goons have been violating ordinary people’s rights throughout Southern California, we are hopeful that today’s ruling will be a step toward accountability for the federal government’s flagrant lawlessness that we have all been witnessing,” Mohammad Tajsar, senior staff attorney with the ACLU Foundation of Southern California, representing the plaintiffs said.

No one should be okay with armed, masked people kidnapping anyone off of the streets of an allegedly free country. It’s giving TACO banana republic instead of land of the free.

The “Don’t tread on me” crowd should be outraged by this, and judging by the polling, some actually are very turned off by seeing what they voted for come to life.

Morally, there is simply no justification for this behavior. It also doesn’t belong in a free country. It is the action of a scared man who fears dissent and freedom, because he knows at his core that he is not popular or loved by the people. Instead of trying to use his powers for good, to earn the love of the people, Trump attacks the liberty every person is afforded on U.S. soil.

We should all be able to agree that we don’t want people kidnapped off the streets for no reason.

So often it seems that it is women who take on fascists. Here again, we have a brave woman screaming at ICE about the TRO against racial profiling and chasing them out of the building, following them while she recorded it to document their vehicle, where they were going, and that the seeming racial profiling occurred.

Every time you feel defeated, remember this woman. Take courage from her. She did this on her own, and it made a huge difference in someone’s life.

Resist fascism.
