The Media Is Fueling A Democratic Panic That Could Cost Them The Election
President Joe Biden had a rough debate on Thursday night. He rebounded with a good rally on Friday afternoon in North Carolina. The initial polling wave reveals that the debate didn’t help Trump at all. It did hurt Biden, not with Independents or swing voters but with Democrats.
It is a group of elite Democrats and donors who have had a meltdown over Biden’s debate performance.
Even if the numbers don’t justify it at this time, this panicked group of elites is calling for Biden to be replaced as the Democratic nominee.
However, replacing Biden would not be as easy as picking a new nominee and moving forward. In fact, inviting the sort of chaos that would come with changing the ticket months before an election has some very serious consequences.
MSNBC’s Jen Psaki listed a few of them:
I'm not going to sit here and tell you what to think; those of you out there who have hopes of replacing Joe Biden with a brokered convention should know all of the factors there.
First of all, it would have a seismic impact on the democratic party if the president stayed neutral and didn't endorse his own vice president. It would mean a couple of thousand party insiders would be empowered to make a choice on the nominee, not the millions of Democratic primary voters who already cast their ballots. It could mean positioning a talented -- the Democrats are very talented, but a largely untested candidate with potentially low name identification into the national spotlight as the one person responsible for defeating Trump just over two months from an election.
Video of Psaki:
There is only one other candidate in the Democratic Party with national presidential election experience, and not surprisingly, the same people who are calling for Biden's replacement also want to replace his vice president on the ticket.
It doesn’t seem to matter to them that they would pick a candidate with no national experience, no money, and little name recognition that would have to be ready to debate Trump weeks after becoming the nominee.
As we will talk about below, some Democratic elites have an agenda when it comes to the party’s presidential nomination.
