'Whose Side Are You On?' Dem Asks after Republicans Block Release of Epstein Files

Democratic Representative Ro Khanna (D-CA) pushed for the release of the Epstein files in the next 30 days, and it was blocked by Republicans.

Khanna framed the issue as whose side the legislators are on.

“In a very simple way, we should see whose side are you on?” Rep. Khanna told MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell last night. “That's really what this Epstein file issue has become. It's not just about knowing who's being protected, the rich and the powerful in terms of who had interaction with Jeffrey Epstein.”

“It's the sense that people have that the government is too beholden to certain interests who have their thumb on the scale, and that they're not working for ordinary people. And what the Democrats are saying is we want to make sure that we get full justice here, that we get full transparency. And this may have been the first attempt that was blocked, but I'll tell you, it's not going to be the last attempt.”

Donald Trump has been on an ongoing meltdown about the Epstein files as his MAGA base is banging down the door wondering why he’s reversed his position on his promise to release these files. Trump’s Attorney General Pam Bondi said on TV that the Epstein files list was on her desk, but then later claimed it doesn’t exist.

Khanna tweeted: “Rules voted 5-7 to block the full House from voting on my amendment to have a FULL release of the Epstein file. People are fed up. They are fed up. Thanks ⁦@RepRalphNorman. Need to put the American people before party!”

This simple graphic tells the entire story, and that story contradicts the very thing that has fueled the MAGA base via QAnon, namely their conspiracy that Democrats/the deep state were running some kind of pedo ring (as if Democrats could ever seize and use power to that degree).

But now the world knows just who is afraid of releasing these files and who is not. Because when it comes to values, the two parties are very different.

Democrats have cleaned their own house when credible allegations of sexual harassment and or abuse have been raised since the Me Too movement, whereas Republicans went in the complete opposite direction, actually choosing to run their party an adjudicated sexual abuser, who is said to creep on the teens in his pageants.
