Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has had a series of health problems in the last few years. McConnell stepped down from Senate Republican leadership, but kept his seat and said that he would be retiring at the end of his term.

ABC News reported:

Emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the Washington home of Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell last month to attend to an unconscious person who appeared to be in cardiac arrest, according to EMS dispatch audio reviewed by ABC News.

While the audio does not indicate who the person is, the incident occurred on the same day that McConnell was hospitalized on June 14.

Since McConnell was hospitalized, few details have been provided about his health.

Jennifer Bendery of HuffPost posted on X:

Just asked Mitch McConnnell's office for any health updates, including whether he's conscious. He reportedly had a heart attack on June 14th and was discovered unconscious at his house. A McConnell spokesperson shared the same comment they put out on July 2, w/ no details.

…

“Senator McConnell appreciates the outpouring of support he’s receiving while he continues his recovery in the hospital. The Senator continues to improve, and is working closely with his staff on Kentucky and Senate matters while the Senate is out of session.”

The people of Kentucky deserve to know if one of their two senators is incapacitated or worse.

Even though Republicans rigged the process for choosing McConnell’s replacement, they still have reason to betray the public and hide information about his health.
