Video Analysis Shows the 'Agent Was Not in the Path of the Victim's SUV' When He Fired

The New York Times’ analysis of multiple videos of an ICE agent’s fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good in Minnesota on Wednesday shows the Trump administration is lying about the justification for the shooting.

“The moment the agent fires, he is standing here to the left of the SUV, and the wheels are pointing to the right away from the agent. This appears to conflict with allegations that the SUV was ramming or about to ram, the officer,” the NYT reports.

A 37-year-old woman, Renee Nicole Good, was fatally shot by a federal agent in Minneapolis. The agent claimed he fired in self-defense as Good attempted to run him over.

However, bystander footage contradicts this, showing the agent was not in the SUV’s path when he fired.

The incident began with Good’s SUV blocking federal vehicles as she appears to be trying to do a 3 point turn, leading to two agents jumping out of silver truck to confront her as she waved other vehicles past.

The agent, who filmed the scene, fired as Good reversed her vehicle. Despite the agent’s claim of being hit by her SUV, synchronized footage shows he was not.

Federal agents are then seen delaying and obstructing medical aid and leaving the scene of the crime before emergency services arrived and before evidence from the scene could be secured.

The Trump administration did provide grainy, potentially sped up footage that does appear to show that the agent is being hit, but when synchronized with clear bystander footage from side of the car where the agent was standing, it becomes clear that the agent was standing to the left of the vehicle — out of its path— when he began shooting the victim. The wheels of the SUV are turned to the right.
