Trump's Violent Rhetoric Is A Sign Of Desperation

We've seen this movie before from Donald Trump. When the ex-president thinks that he is going to lose, he accelerates the violent rhetoric.

Trump’s Rhetoric Gets Unsurprisingly Violent

Most candidates when they reach the closing days of presidential election play it safe. They crisscross the country delivering their stump speech and getting their supporters out to vote. It is a great strategy. It prevents unforced errors and juices up the excitement. It also works, which is why successful candidates do it all of the time.

Then there is Donald Trump. Not only did Trump waste a day holding a rally in a non-swing state that he will not win, at that same rally, his campaign enraged Puerto Rican voters to such a degree that it might cost him Pennsylvania.

Trump followed that up riding around in a garbage truck which only reminded people that his rally had just called Puerto Ricans garbage, and if that wasn’t enough damage done, Trump decided while sitting around with Tucker Carlson and his fake laugh in Arizona that he should threaten the life of Liz Cheney.

Trump said, “Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, OK? And let’s see how she feels about it, you know, when the guns are trained on her face.”

As his campaign tried to claim that Trump was talking about Cheney supporting wars, Trump doubled and tripled down which concluded with him promising that Cheney will pay if he is elected president.

Just like his rally that called Puerto Rico garbage, Trump threatening violence is nothing new to people who have been paying attention.

The bad news for Trump is that people who don’t usually pay attention are tuning in for the last couple of weeks of the campaign, and what they are seeing is a declining and more dangerous Trump.

However, Trump’s rhetoric and threats are about much more than looking strong and seeking revenge.
