The Memorandum of Understanding reported on the 6th — i.e., Trump’s “deal” — is in actuality a preliminary "one-page" Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) intended to immediately end active conflict and establish a framework for long-term negotiation.

So, not even a deal yet.
It’s an agreement authored by two men who are seen as anything but renowned statesmen, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, to end the conflict that Trump and Netanyahu started together. Yay?
Like all of Trump’s “deals”, this one lasted but hours before it went to Hell. But of course, Trump stated late Thursday that the truce remains intact despite recent U.S. strikes on military targets following Iranian attacks on destroyers.
The truce is “intact” even though we are still warring. That’s the TACO Doctrine, meaningless fluff followed by heaping praise on the man who doesn’t seem to know where he is when he’s not falling asleep in front of the cameras when posing for photos — aka, the few hours of “work” he puts in every week, unless crypto deals to enrich himself and his family to the reported tune of $1 billion are considered part of his job as president.
Donald Trump has not only made America worse again, he has made the entire globe unsafe with his petty jealousy of Barack Obama and his clownish, puffed up buffoonery on a world stage he understands at an inverse proportion the size of his own ego.
To wit, Trump’s 2018 withdrawal from the JCPOA led to Iran enriching over 400 kg of highly enriched uranium, increasing nuclear risk.
Following the 2018 U.S. withdrawal from Obama’s JCPOA, Iran significantly increased its nuclear activities, resulting in a stockpile of over 400 kg of 60% enriched uranium as of mid-2025.
We Were All Safer with Obama’s Deal
Had Trump had maintained former Obama’s hard fought Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the world would be safer with less enriched uranium by Iran.
Jack Straw was involved in the JCPOA talks and managed the UK’s response to the Iraq war in his capacity as Foreign Secretary from 2001 to 2006. He posited on France 24 that if Trump had maintained Obama’s JCPOA, the world would be safer.
