A 6-month-old infant was hospitalized with breathing difficulties after federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents deployed tear gas and flash-bang grenades near the family’s vehicle as they tried to drive home from a basketball game in North Minneapolis.
The infant was found to be unconscious and not breathing, with foam or bubbles coming from their mouth, according to the mother. Thankfully, the parents and bystanders managed to get the children out of the vehicle. Bystanders reportedly used milk to help alleviate the effects of the tear gas on the other children, while the mother performed CPR on the infant as instructed by emergency services over the phone.

Minneapolis police and firefighters confirmed the infant was breathing and stable, though in serious condition. Both infant and mother were transported to the hospital.
