Trump's FCC Chair Threatens To Take Away Broadcasting Licenses If Networks Don't Push Iran War Propaganda
Trump's FCC Chair Brandon Carr threatened to take away licenses from broadcasters if they don't stop telling the truth about the Iran war.
The signal was sent during Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s latest briefing, which was a loss in the media and a loss in the war in Iran. Hegseth attacked the media for reporting details about the planning mistakes that appear to have been made by the Trump administration, and that the war is not going as well as the rosy picture that the White House likes to paint would suggest.
Hegseth took time out of his briefing to lecture the press about how he thought they should cover the war. To the surprise of no one, the Trump administration official wants the war to be covered as sunshine and rainbows as the United States marches to an easy victory.
The reality is that Donald Trump spent Saturday posting that the allies of the United States, whom he trashed, should be helping to open the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump’s administration doesn’t want to acknowledge that its war in Iran is the least popular war at such an early stage in the history of public opinion polling.
The administration is blaming the media for the unpopularity of the war, so their answer is to use their power to threaten broadcasters.
Trump’s FCC Chair Brandon Carr posted on X on Saturday:
Broadcasters that are running hoaxes and news distortions - also known as the fake news - have a chance now to correct course before their license renewals come up.
