“I mean, we don't even know what's happened in terms of the Epstein thing that's going on.”
No matter where President Donald Trump goes, they bring up the Epstein files. Even in Scotland.
Trump can’t outrun his political troubles, even by fleeing across the ocean to Scotland. Hundreds of protesters gathered on Saturday calling the president a convicted felon and a fascist during his visit to several of his golf courses in Aberdeen and Edinburgh, Scotland. They even brought up the Epstein files.
“Donald Trump shouldn't be here in Scotland. He's a convicted felon. I mean, we don't even know what's happened in terms of the Epstein thing that's going on,” an anti-Trump protester told CNBC on Saturday.
They gave speeches and waved signs, encouraging Americans to stand up against Trump and authoritarianism, objecting to his treatment of immigrants, his racism, his tariffs, and more.

Here’s a few quotes:
“I'm very much against everything that Trump stands for and what he's doing in America. So I want people to know that. Americans know that, like we're very much pro them. They're their democracy. But we really want the lies, the falsehoods, the racism, the fascism, to stop. So that's why we're all demonstrating today. He shouldn't be here.”
“You know, we shouldn't give him airtime. You know, somebody like that who has those standards, I don't think it should be welcome in this country.”
“I'm an immigrant myself. I've come from Italy here to Scotland, and I stand pretty much against everything that Trump does, and I think Scotland should reject Trump in a strong way.”
“They have actually moved themselves towards that position of authoritarianism.”
“We want them to stand up for the people in Palestine. We want them to stand up for the people in Ukraine. We want them to stand up against Trump's bullying of tariffs all around the world.”
“Donald Trump shouldn't be here in Scotland. He's a convicted felon. I mean, we don't even know what's happened in terms of the Epstein thing that's going on.”
“We reject the politics of fear, the politics of division. And as an American, I'm here just to show my support for the people that think the same way as me and basically detest everything Donald Trump stands for.”
“You sometimes wonder if you know protest works and people listen to it, but that's the only tool that we have for democracy. And to show our dislike of Donald Trump, basically, and what he stands for.”
“I've come from Italy here to Scotland, and I stand pretty much against everything that Trump does, and I think Scotland should reject Trump in a strong way, because, just to send a signal that the majority of the people in the world don't agree with what he's doing in terms of like the genocide in Palestine and the treatment of immigrants in the US as well.”
“So, so when Donald Trump did open that golf course, that was about 15 years ago, there was he did a lot of damage to the local community, and there was a huge amount of opposition.”
“1 think the vast majority of Scots have this sort of feeling about Trump, even though he has Scottish roots, he's a disgrace to us.”
“I'm here to oppose fascism, to say that Trump isn't welcome in Scotland. I think there are far too many countries that are feeling the pressure of Trump, and that they feel that they have to accept him, and we should not accept him here.”
“We should not accept fascism, fascism in any form at this point. Have we not been through this before?”
“So as a Scot and as an American, I'm a dual citizen, we're saying no, we don't want you here. And we wish that more countries would say no. We wish the British government had said no.”
“I want to make it clear that he's not welcome in Scotland.”
Trump’s five-day private presidential visit that includes a meeting with the UK’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer and one with the EU chief Ursula von der Leyen was meant to let the Epstein scandal die.
“They hope some time out of the limelight will allow the Epstein controversy to die down,” Reuters reported two sources familiar with the matter told them.
When asked on Friday what he thought they would get out of Ghislaine Maxwell, Trump told the press not to talk about Epstein, but if they did, not to talk about Trump.
"I haven't really been following it. You make it a very big thing over something that's not a big thing. If you going to talk about that, talk about Clinton… Don’t talk about Trump.”
Cut to the next day: “I mean, we don't even know what's happened in terms of the Epstein thing that's going on.”
