Republicans are left with egg on their faces once again after ‘flop’ drill baby drill agenda has no bids.

In yet another “Biden was right, Republicans were wrong” installation, today I give to you: Then President Biden was correct when he canceled the oil and gas exploration leases off Alaska’s Cook Inlet because there was no interest.

No interest in even bidding on oil and gas exploration in more than 1 million acres.

Watch more about another Trump flop, this time in Iran, in the video below:

At the time, Republicans, including Alaska Republican Senators Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan, howled in outrage over Biden’s statement, as they so often seem to do these says when faced with reality (and honestly, at this point, same), claiming, “The Biden administration claimed – falsely – that industry had no interest in leasing in the basin.”

Murkowski continued with what now looks like misplaced confidence bordering on hubris, “I can say with full certainty, based on conversations as recently as last night, that Alaska’s industry does have interest in lease sales in Cook Inlet. To claim otherwise is simply false, not to mention stunningly short-sighted.”

But of course, the Biden administration was right again when his Department of the Interior cited a lack of interest and environmental considerations. Let us all take a moment to grieve the loss of competence.

So Republicans shoved destruction of the planet into Trump’s tax bill — the one that also allowed “health” insurance to cover less for more as part of Trump’s drill baby drill agenda of opening up the area off of Alaska’s Cook Inlet for oil and gas exploration.

It didn’t receive a single bid.

Not a single bid.

Not one.

It’s been open since February 2.
