A campaign ad started running on Wednesday night on Fox News. A campaign ad running on Fox News is nothing new, but it was the ad itself that immediately raised eyebrows.
The ad itself is creepy. It begins with Trump promising, “ Together we will defeat communism, socialism, and Marxism in America. America will never be a communist country.”
It then goes into montage mode as singers sing " Love Me " in the background.
The ad closes with Dana White praising Trump’s toughness.
The problem is that the spot says it was “Paid for by the US government.”
The United States government can’t pay for and run campaign ads for any president or candidate. Taxpayer money can’t fund political ads, but this ad claims it did.
The ad is only running on Fox News for a reason. No other network outside of conservative media would accept it due to the high possibility that it is illegal. The spot also appeals to Trump’s base, as the president tries to get his voters interested in the 2026 midterm election.
A video like this is pure propaganda, and absolutely not something that should be funded by the taxpayers.
