Trump Prosecutors Must Show Jury FBI Agent's Texts Calling Accused 'Libtard'
After a grand jury refused to indict Sidney Lori Reid three times, Jeanine Pirro is now trying for a misdemeanor, but will have to show the jury the agents text messages calling Reid a "libtard."
In a case meant to test if U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro can get convictions on charges related to Trump’s federalization of D.C., one of the people they’ve charged with a misdemeanor count of assault has just earned the right to show the jury the FBI agent’s texts calling her a "libtard” and saying her injuries are just “boo boos.”
Boos boos they are prosecuting Sidney Lori Reid over.
Reid has been charged with assaulting FBI Agent Eugenia Bates during an ICE arrest outside the D.C. Jail after she allegedly put herself between ICE agents and someone they were detaining.
Federal grand juries have already declined to indict Reid THREE times on a felony charge.
Yes, three times. Pirro is nothing if not a massive failure, given that legal experts note that it is extremely rare for federal grand juries to refuse to approve indictments. Grand juries hear only evidence presented by the prosecution and do not need a unanimous vote. So they must be very skeptical of the “facts” being presented by Pirro’s office.
Pirro has issues with the job she’s been given, notably including that she thinks juveniles should be prosecuted as adults, arguing that they are “not kids, they’re criminals.” So before they are even found guilty, they’re criminals according to the former Fox News host. That’s the opposite of liberty and freedom, so it tracks.
“NEW: An FBI agent called the woman accused of assaulting her a “libtard” — and described her own injuries as “boo boos.” Today, a judge said jurors will get to see those texts in a trial that will test the viability of APO charges during the surge,” Jordan Fischer reported.

Reid will have the opportunity to show jurors texts calling her a “libtard,” a federal judge said, noting it is “highly relevant” to questions of bias.
The word libtard is defined as “a contemptuous term for a person with left-wing or liberal political views.” This means that the FBI agent not only showed contempt for someone based on their political views, but assumed their political views because they objected to the arguably unlawful behavior of Trump’s federalization of troops against US citizens. Neither of these two facts suggest the agent is good at their job.
Furthermore, the Dictionary helps us out to show that the FBI agent assumed the person had an intellectual or developmental disability: “The word libtard is intended to insult someone by linking the person’s liberal political views and their expression to an intellectual or developmental disability: as the etymology indicates, the last part of this compound comes from retard, a profoundly demeaning term for a person with such a disability. Reliance on the disparagement of people with disabilities makes libtard, and its much less frequent companion insult conservatard, doubly offensive.”
Given the agent’s belief that left-wing people have an intellectual or developmental disability, it’s fair to question why she is trying to charge the person with assault. Is this Trump’s FBI? Will all people with disabilities be treated this way? Or will they treat people who are right-wing with respect, saving their contempt for the left?
Of course the law is not supposed to be applied differently based on political beliefs, but again, this is Trump’s government. He will continue to abuse the left until he runs out of easy targets, and then he’ll turn to the right.
Additionally, Reid can show the agent’s other texts where she downplays her own injuries that she is now prosecuting Reid for.
U.S. District Judge Sparkle Sooknanan also said prosecutors “will have to prove Reid committed simple assault, not simply that she forcibly resisted or impeded officers, to win a conviction on the misdemeanor charge.”
Oh, no.
And now, they’re worried about jury nullification.
“Federal prosecutors, who’ve already made it very clear they’re worried about jury nullification when Sidney Reid goes on trial later this month, wants to ask potential jurors specifically about their feelings on ICE and the federal surge (even though the charges pre-date it),” Jordan Fischer reported for WUSA9 on Wednesday.
Federal prosecutors must know it doesn’t look great out there to the public these days, and so they’re worried about jury nullification to the point of wanting to ask potential jurors about their feelings about ICE, after an FBI agent got busted with text messages calling someone she accused of assaulting her a “libtard.”
If Trump and his administration of incompetent drunks and abusers want to convince juries that they are just going after crime, they should start with not attacking American citizens in broad daylight, abusing mothers and 79-year-old men, zip-tying children, and maybe lose the name calling, too.
This agent referring to the person being charged with misdemeanor assault over a “boo boo” is as a “libtard” is absolutely on brand for Republicans. It was just five days ago that Donald Trump said of Democrats, “Go fuck yourselves.”
Yes, he’s quite the negotiator and deal-maker. Vanity Fair described a White House official commenting that Trump reviewed a list of Democratic demands on healthcare related to the 2025 government shutdown and responded by saying, “On second thought, go fuck yourself.”
So much class, that guy. A master negotiator. He just insults people and then threatens to arrest them to get what he wants. He is unfamiliar with how to govern in a country like the US, where the president isn’t supposed to get every single little toy he wants, exactly his way.
But Trump does not have big boy pants. And so Republicans have a trifecta of power and yet are so incompetent that they cannot even keep the government open, let alone pass an actual funding bill — which, by the way, is THEIR JOB.
I really hope the defense lawyer asks this FBI agent if “libtards” deserve to be charged with a crime four times. And how many times can one charge a “libtard” before it looks like an attempt to prosecute dissent. And how many conservatives has she insulted and then accused of assault to the point of having them charged four times?
Those who hold public employment/trust should be better than this name calling! They should try to set a good example for the public to follow, not show a complete lack of respect for their fellow human beings!
