Honestly, Sarah, I have thought for a long time, based on all apparent evidence, that he is the Manchurian president, here to destroy our country and way of life.
I also agree with Michelle ; starting with the first term Trump has always acted to weaken the alliances that have prevented Russian expansionism and to enrich oligarchs. It’s been a long held belief in our home that he & his close circle are Russian puppets.
Stalin weakened his country by eliminating many of his top military generals- just before Hitler invaded. Isn’t that what Trump is doing? Installing incompetent sycophants at many critical positions?
History still wonders if a deep cover Western agent influenced that decision.
So what pro-Russian snakes are whispering in Trump’s ear now?
I feel the same way. Too much damage has already been done. He is undermining the entire workings of our government to install his own ideas of government, and it won't be a good one for any of us.
This is exactly right. No matter his “reasons”. Deportable migrants, asylum seekers , green card holders, and American citizens labeled for deportation or internment in the concentration camps he plans to be will become forced labor. Someone ask the MAGA justices, especially Robert’s, what they think about their Federalist Society plan now that Trump is defying the Supreme Court. Or the MAGA Congress that could stop most of this if they had an ounce of courage—the loyalty only goes one way in Trump world and one day some of them will find themselves living in tents. Are there no nonviolent creative subversive tactics we can imagine and use alongside the legal challenges?
It's going to take pressure on the Republicans in office to stop him. We need to fill their inboxes and jam their phone lines to say they are playing with fire if they don't start taking control of what this man is doing under their own noses.
It won't be long before we become the Rodney Dangerfield of the world. We won't get any respect even after the fat orange bastard leaves office, and that's no joke.
Goodness, it should be fairly obvious to everyone exactly what he is doing. He is commiting a coup while the Republicans in the House and Senate who could take back THEIR power and stop him, pretend to love and admire him. Like I have said before, he wants to be dictator for life, just like Xi of China, and he's well on his way to getting there. No one should ever forget the day he pleaded with a woman to vote for him just this once, AND YOU'LL NEVER HAVE TO VOTE AGAIN. What in the hell do you all think this means? You think it means that this is the last time he'll be able to run? Hell no. He is dismantling all oversight departments, firing all of the most important employees whose job it is to keep us safe, handing all departments over to people who are wholly unqualified. I could go on but there's no point in it. We have to get this man out of office by any means necessary.
Sarah, one possible reason Trump is destroying the U.S. economy is that if there is a Great Depression again, everything will be for sale with fire-sale prices: his oligarch friends could buy the highways and bridges we all need and charge us tolls; the national parks could be purchased for playgrounds or homes for the wealthy; companies big and small would go for cheap and oligarchs could make new fortunes running them; the natural resources from logging or mining could be theirs for the taking—you didn’t need that forest, did you? You didn’t need clean water so if the mines make all the water toxic—well that’s just too bad. Everything could be purchased by the billionaires for a song, and no more concerns about democracy or the rule of law, or voting rights or workers’ rights. They’d own the transportation; the public buildings, the beautiful places and beaches and we would all live in industrial cancer alleys. I don’t know if the billionaires would actually be that selfish, but the way they talk??
I always ask myself the same question about his poor (REALLY POOR!!!) choices: What's in it for him? I don't have an answer for this one. Who benefits? Does Putin get something out of this?
As stressed as I am about finances, what hurts more is how he and his confederates are harming the American people. It’s a sadistic display of cruelty and terror meant to crush our spirit and render us incapable of retaining our freedoms. The institutions that have given in are about to become repeatedly blackmailed
I can’t see any more compelling factor than that Trump and his key cohorts are either “useful idiots” or actual Russian assets. The cascading evidence of increased Russian influence, probably triggered during his 1987 Moscow visit, both distresses and angers me. It also appears that there is an oligarchy “hive mind”—a converging way of thinking once a certain level of wealth and power are reached. A key vector of this convergence is a complete abandonment of democracy—or worse, the use of democratic levers to hollow out democracy. Oligarchs live in their own transnational world, fueled by their wealth and control over political systems. Russian oligarchs, American oligarchs, Asian oligarchs—they all have more in common with each other than any material differences. Trump wants to join the club, so he has to grift incessantly to secure the required wealth and he has to constantly show them that he belongs in the club. His Putin ass kissing is just the clearest manifestation of this drive. What is Putin if not the oligarchs’ oligarch?
Project 2025 plan is what it is. Definitely intentional.
Tear it down and then remake it to their liking. Same with the market manipulation and stealing trillions from people’s 401ks. Sad times we live in.

The deep state needs to take him out sooner than later. Our country cannot take 4 years of this fool.

Putin told him to do it.
duh, for putin
Impeachment this imbecile RFN!!!! We must to save and preserve OUR democracy!!!

Trump is delusional, crazy, and thrives on chaos. He has surrounded & shielded himself with spineless crazies. He needs ousted!
The American people are rising up in protest and protest we must if we are to save our democracy.
Marti

You will. It’s the fat orange bastard and the cronies and corrupt people around him who are damaging America. We just want the real America back
Clearly what are we going to do about it
Keep calling your congress critters @ 202-224-3121
How ‘bout picketing outside of Republican office?

The Felon is handled by oligarchs who have no loyalty to any country. Destroying the US is simply a stepping stone to more global money and power.
