There Really Is No Republican Presidential Primary

A new New York Times/Sienna College Poll of the Republican presidential primary reveals that contrary to what the corporate media is trying to sell, there is no Republican presidential primary. The networks can have Chris Christie, Mike Pence, and the like littering the Sunday shows, and segments on cable news, but it doesn’t matter. Trump is crushing them all. Trump leads DeSantis 54%-17% and no one else is above 3%.

Interviewing Christie, Pence, Hutchinson, Scott, and the rest is a waste of time. They are going nowhere. Ron DeSantis is Dedead in the water.

However, there was one question in the poll that contained an ominous sign for Republicans.

A Majority Of Republicans Think Trump Can Beat Biden

The poll asked who could beat Joe Biden, and Trump got 58% of the Republican support. DeSantis got 28%, and Don’t Know/No Response got 14%.

Trump lost to Joe Biden convincingly in 2020. The former president’s Big Lie about the election being stolen has convinced nearly 60% of Republicans that the 2020 loser who is facing 75 and counting felony charges can win in 2024.
