Trump Reveals Why He Should Not Be Leading On The Economy

It has become clear to anyone who objectively follows politics that Donald Trump doesn’t know much or care much about policy, so when he showed up in New York City to supposedly lay out his plan for the US economy, it was bound to be full of rhetoric and short on substance, but what Trump managed to say was even worse than could have been expected.

Remember how VP Harris laid out a plan to build 3 million new housing units in four years and provide a tax credit of $25,000 to first time home buyers?

Well, this was Donald Trump’s plan:

We will make housing much more affordable. As inflation is tamed, interest rates will dramatically fall, they'll be down.

We had them down to 2. 4 percent and even lower than that for a period of time reducing Mortgage rates is a big factor We're gonna get them back down to we think 3 percent maybe even lower than that saving the average homebuyer Thousands of dollars per year they can now go out young people will be able to buy a home again and Be a part of the American dream We will eliminate regulations that drive up housing costs with the goal of cutting the cost of a new home in half.

We think we can do that. The regulations alone cost 30 percent. Regulation costs 30 percent of a new home. And we will open up portions of federal land for large scale housing construction.

An unregulated housing market would be a disaster because it would open up the door to discrimination against buyers. Various safety and environmental standards would be tossed out the door, and the unregulated market would promote fraud and corruption, but this was actually one of Trump’s more fleshed-out ideas.

What the text of the speech didn’t capture was Trump's declining mental state, which could be seen and heard in his presentation.

Trump’s Decline Takes Center Stage

Trump came to the event with an apparent lack of energy. He spoke in a low and sometimes slurred voice, and he used to read every single word off of the teleprompter as slowly as possible. This was either a deliberate tactic by the ex-president to express his displeasure with the campaign over having to read a speech, or it was just who Trump is now.

Is Donald Trump so old and low energy that this was the best that he could offer?
