Today Biden is Taking on AI
The Biden-Harris administration is meeting with 7 top AI company leaders Friday to work on the safe, secure, and transparent development of AI technology that protects workers and consumers.

If the idea of AI is looming over you with more than a little apprehension, you might have watched the Black Mirror episode Joan is Awful. We did, too.
So it was a huge relief to cover a background call with White House senior administration officials discussing President Biden’s efforts to address AI, including the fact that they have already secured a voluntary commitment from some of the biggest AI companies to agree to certain safety standards to protect workers and consumers. On top of this, an Executive Order will be coming soon. Obviously, legislative action is needed most importantly, but there’s also good news here as even this Congress agrees that AI is a looming threat that they must deal with.
On Friday, the Biden-Harris administration is meeting with the following leaders:
• Brad Smith, President, Microsoft
• Kent Walker, President, Google
• Dario Amodei, CEO, Anthropic
• Mustafa Suleyman, CEO, Inflection AI
• Nick Clegg, President, Meta
• Greg Brockman, President, OpenAI
• Adam Selipsky, CEO, Amazon Web Services
