The Eras Of American Political History
One of the things that I find most fascinating about American political history isn’t that history repeats itself. However, that does happen as new generations think that they are immune from the mistakes of the past.
What I find interesting is how eras or chapters in our political history have a trajectory. The story has a beginning, a middle, and an end.
Some stories are clear. There is the rise of Barack Obama that started in 2004. His rise to be a presidential candidate in 2008. His arrival in the White House, and his return to private life after a successful eight years in office. My rough sketch of the Obama trajectory left out all of the peaks and valleys.
