Ron DeSantis is struggling. He is finding out that being Donald Trump without the Trump isn’t as in demand as he thought so he has gone to some extreme lengths to try to out MAGA Trump.
Consider, this appearance from DeSantis and his response about where RFK Jr. might fit into a DeSantis administration.
DeSantis said when asked about RFK Jr. as a potential running mate, “It's like okay okay if you're president you know sic him on the FDA if he'd be willing to serve or sic him on CDC but in terms of being veep if there's you know 70 percent of the issues that he may be averse to our base on.”

Gov. DeSantis’s campaign has been on life support for a while. He still has more than $100 million in super PAC money backing him, but DeSantis laid off more than a third of his staff.
The more time he spends campaigning, the worse his poll numbers get, and now he has decided to save his campaign by saying that he would put an anti-vaxxer/anti-Semitic conspiracy theorist in charge of the CDC or FDA.
