Senate Democrats Are Not Impressed With Some Of Trump’s Cabinet Picks
Here is how you can tell when a meeting did not go well. The top-ranking Democrat on the Senate Armed Services Committee, Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI), met with Trump’s choice to be the Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth. The meeting between the two lasted a little more than twenty minutes.
Sen. Reed put out a statement on the meeting saying, “Today’s meeting did not relieve my concerns about Mr. Hegseth’s lack of qualifications and raised more questions than answers. As with any nominee for this critical position, Mr. Hegseth must undergo the same high-level of scrutiny as prior Secretary of Defense nominees.”
Yikes.
