They're Trying to Hide Puppy Killer Kristi Noem's History of Big Spending on the Taxpayer Dime

Kristi Noem just got busted in a huge spending scandal that echoes another Noem spending scandal Republicans are trying to cover up in South Dakota.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem just got busted in a huge scandal that a lot of people probably missed since we are buried in the constant scandal of the Republican Party’s cover-up for a global pedophile operation while they burn the country to the ground by attacking the basic freedoms over which we fought the Revolutionary War.

Not only did Trump’s deceptively named ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ give Noem’s department $150 billion, but Noem put herself in charge of that money — and it’s totally not on purpose flowing her to friends and allies.

A firm tied to Kristi Noem secretly got money from $220 million DHS ad contracts, a ProPublica investigation revealed on November 14th.

The company is run by the husband of Noem’s chief DHS spokesperson and has personal and business ties to Noem and her aides. DHS invoked the ’emergency’ at the border to skirt competitive bidding rules for the taxpayer-funded campaign.

Hey, we found the waste fraud and abuse! $220 million dollars to a sketchy company that was just created days before this, when it often takes months to years to apply and win a government contract for significantly much less money.

It was shot at Mount Rushmore and features Noem wearing chaps and a cowboy hat astride a horse as she says, “Break our laws, we’ll punish you.”

This ad is supposedly a “crucial tool to stem illegal immigration.” The thinking here is unclear. Will immigrants will see her astride a horse and think, ‘Not today, Satan’ or ‘Don’t shoot’ and flee the country? Is it more of her earlier $200 million “self-deport” ads? If so, why is it playing on Fox & Friends?

Like any decent authoritarian wannabe, Noem is spending hundreds of millions on ads — aka, propaganda, and sticking the taxpayers with the bill.

In fact, the Republican bypassed the process that is meant to prevent waste and corruption by claiming a “national emergency” at the border.

It seems very secretive and involved partisan cronies. “It’s corrupt, is the word,” a contract law expert told ProPublica. “Hiding your friends as subcontractors is like playing hide the salami with the taxpayer.”

The Department of Homeland Security has kept at least one beneficiary of the nine-figure ad deal a secret, records and interviews show: a Republican consulting firm with long-standing personal and business ties to Noem and her senior aides at DHS. The company running the Mount Rushmore shoot, called the Strategy Group, does not appear on public documents about the contract. The main recipient listed on the contracts is a mysterious Delaware company, which was created days before the deal was finalized.

The people willing to work for someone as corrupt and criminal as Donald Trump are so often cut from the same cloth.

But wait, it gets so much worse. This ad was shot as Trump refused to allow house Republicans to even negotiate with Democrats to save ACA healthcare subsidies (a failure that experts have determined will result in 50,000 people dying preventable deaths) and just two days after Trump hosted a Great Gatsby Halloween party hours before SNAP funding lapsed.

Yes, it was shot on October 2nd.

It featured Noem in one of her many costumes with her hair extensions and a very curated version of her. That is to say, this look likely cost some big money in post.

This is a woman who likes to dress up and cosplay. She has a history of centering herself in various costumes in ads, dressed as a surgeon or a cowboy. She wants to be seen as any and all heroes you most respect. There is no need to pick just one, because she is not really doing the work. It’s just for play (and grift).

Examples abound:

The current ad is clearly aimed at an audience of one. Taxpayers paid for this aggrandizement and propaganda to be served to the wannabe king.

This latest revelation came out just weeks after Noem also got exposed for having the Coast Guard buy two Gulfstream luxury jets with $172 million in taxpayer money for her.

For “safety.”

This woman is going through $200 million dollars in taxpayer funds every several weeks right now, $172 million on her private jets and another $220 million for an ad featuring her as cowboy.

Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), Ranking Member of the Committee on Homeland Security, blasted Noem for this spend, saying she is using the jets to travel around for photo-ops and doing it during a government shutdown while federal workers weren’t getting paid, including most of the DHS workforce she oversees. He said it was probably illegal, noting that Congress denied her request for a $50 million jet earlier in the year.
