The White House Is Clearly Lying About Trump Not Posting Racist Attack On The Obamas

The White House keeps changing its story on the racist video that posted to Trump's Truth Social account late at night. First, it was fake Democratic outrage, then a staffer was blamed.

A White House that lies as a regular course of business in communicating with the American people has not earned the benefit of the doubt.

Trump’s Truth Social account featured a barrage of posts related to election conspiracies, Democrats being anti-black, and immigration. The posts started around 10:30 PM and continued until 12:45 AM, and then resumed at 5:45 AM.

Within those posts was an AI-generated video that portrayed Trump as the king of the jungle and Democrats as animals. The video portrayed the Obamas as apes.

The racist depiction of former President and First Lady Obama was met with criticism from the left and the right.

Originally, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt released a statement blaming Democrats for “fake outrage.”

“Please stop the fake outrage and report on something today that actually matters to the American public. This is from an internet meme video depicting President Trump as the King of the Jungle and Democrats as characters from the Lion King.”

There were some problems with Leavitt’s statement. There are no ape characters in The Lion King. Who were the Obamas based on if there were no ape characters in the story?

The outrage wasn’t just coming from Democrats. Republican Senators like Tim Scott and Roger Wicker also posted statements condemning the racist attack on the Obamas.

The Trump administration always tries to lean into partisan division first, but when that didn’t work, the White House came up with a new story.
