A veteran who was peacefully exercising his First Amendment right to protest Elon Musk and DOGE was confronted by a Musk supporter who disagreed with him, and the result was a peaceful and respectful disagreement.

A poster who claimed to be this veteran posted on Reddit’s 50501 community:

“I briefly spoke with a gentleman who approached me while protesting Tesla/ Elon Musk on Saturday.

We disagreed on what is happening and the reasoning for these protests, but we did so respectfully.

Not seeing much "on the ground" footage from protests that reflect the peaceful nature of this movement OR our capacity to have civilized discussions with people who still support what Elon Musk is doing.

Not sure what the message is, but I felt that the nature of this interaction was important and not likely to be captured by the media.

The Elon defender was less respectful than the Elon protester, but they managed to have a civil conversation in which the Elon defender refused to even acknowledge that Elon Musk made a “Nazi” salute, which is what is to be expected from Trump supporters right now.
