Republicans Have An RFK Jr. Problem
It wasn’t supposed to go like this. Steve Bannon and others thought that they could get Robert F. Kennedy Jr. into the 2024 Democratic presidential primary and potentially divide Democrats and weaken President Joe Biden.
Polling has shown that RFK Jr. has gained no traction among Democrats. Fox News pushed RFK Jr. so did Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and conservative media. Democrats were not taking the bait. President Biden had huge leads over RFK Jr. in the early primary states.
Republicans realized that they had to up the ante and do more to promote RFK Jr.
Enter Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and his Weaponization of Government subcommittee. Jordan and Speaker McCarthy got the bright idea to have RFK Jr. testify on “censorship.”
