THE REAL STORY ABOUT HARRIS’S BACKGROUND
Harris was born in California and moved to Quebec at 12 after her Indian biologist mother was recruited to work on breast cancer research, where Harris studied through high school, which is why she is familiar with the French language. This seems like a pretty great skill for a president to have — unless of course you’re a conservative, and then FrenchGate is your thing.
Yes, they freaked out when Harris used a “fake French” accent in Paris two years ago. Apparently the most embarrassing thing a Vice President can do is use a French accent, and here I thought it might be shooting Harry Whittington, a then -78-year-old Texas attorney, while quail hunting. Or having to reject a ride with your Secret Service as your President’s violent, deadly mob were plotting to hang you because you refused to steal an election for him.
Different values, I guess.
Harris’s father is an economics professor at Stanford (emeritus), and he is Jamaican. Yes, the federal government counts people of Jamaican ancestry as Black or African American, even though Donald Trump doesn’t understand this. We can’t all be the sort of geniuses to tout 'Person. Woman. Man. Camera. TV.’
No, she is not a “Marxist,” contrary to a resurfaced propaganda copy-paste lie from 2020 that conservatives are sending around as a PDF. Guess who was the source for this lie that has been ascribed to a “retired Marine” among other authors? Oh, just a literal propaganda outlet author. Snopes concluded (this is an old Snopes, before they lost their minds claiming Donald Trump didn’t praise white supremacists at Charlottesville):
Despite its origins and text being muddled by repeatedly being copied and pasted around Facebook, it appears the source of the text was Trevor Loudon, a contributor for the Epoch Times. As we reported in the past:
"The Epoch Times was founded by Chinese-American adherents to a spiritual movement and meditation practice known as Falun Gong. That news outlet has in recent years, as reported by BuzzFeed News and NBC News, transformed into a misinformation-laden, pro-Trump mouthpiece."
OHHHHH. A pro-Trump mouthpiece full of lies about the backgrounds of Kamala Harris and Barack Obama. HUH! What do they have in common?
Let’s not forget that Donald Trump and his third wife Melania are avid birthers, and in fact this is what propelled Trump into the political world. The media couldn’t get enough of a rabid birther during the Obama years — or of very weird people with tea bags handing off of their hats. Those were the days.
