I am going on 71 years of age, and I never dreamed that my daughters and granddaughters would have fewer rights than I had growing up. Under this fascist regime, that is happening, and it is tragic. As long as I live, I will fight this regime and everything stands for.

I’m 77 and fought for our rights from the ‘60s onward, just as my grandmothers had done in the suffragette era. It is abominable women and girls are still fighting these battles, and that we have backtracked. Staying in the streets until we get it right!

Thank you for this, Sarah. I agree 100 percent. It’s not surprising that the MSM is sidestepping the systematic abuse (enslavement?) of women and girls by Trump and Epstein, but we women know exactly who Donald Trump is. He has never fooled us. A huge shout-out to E. Jean Carroll and Robbie Kaplan for holding that rotten sex pest accountable in a court of law, twice. I hope E. Jean is “making a pile” from her bestselling new memoir, “Not My Type.” Her success is driving Dumpty crazy!

As a male born during Truman's term, I grew up with the cultural diminution of women's agency, their sexualization, and economic oppression, all while elevating Moms and their daughters as sacred objects...until they matured into objects of desire. Those of us with a healthy balance of decency stayed on the side of respecting boundaries. Those without took liberties and got away with it, growing into mature abusers, acquiring status, power, and wealth in some cases. They are now in charge. Your message cannot be overstated.

Sarah,

Thank you for refocusing the Epstein conversation. It IS about the victims.

The Epstein files are generally discussed as if the victims are not people like "us" -- no, no!

How dare we ask to see the evidence of the crimes, not salaciousness? We need to see the ways that powerless people were tricked into victimization.

What specific evidence is being referred to in the Epstein files that could reveal the patterns of victimization? (AI)

The victims were treated as "not present" when they were sexually victimized. Speaking as a seventy-three-year-old woman today, all women and girls in this country/culture are still treated as if they are "not present," or less-than. Similarly to racism, it's a part of the coding of our culture.

How can we ensure that the voices of victims are amplified in discussions about their experiences? (AI)

The culture of victimization has expanded to include anyone whose life circumstances leave them more vulnerable to oppression by fiat.

We were vulnerable to this kind of trickery during the COVID pandemic.

We are vulnerable to this kind of manipulation whenever we need healthcare.

We are vulnerable to this kind of coercion often when we are hungry.

We are vulnerable to this kind of oppression when we need to earn an income.

What steps can be taken to address the systemic issues that leave certain groups vulnerable to manipulation and oppression? (AI)

We need to disclose the files to see the patterns, processes, and behaviors of powerful people toward less powerful people, and to rewrite those behaviors in new interdisciplinary and interactive and cooperative ways.

Thank you, Sarah, for saying the quiet part out loud!

You are a mature woman who has lived through and witnessed so many travesties against women. As a less mature ( !?) male octogenarian I commend you Charla. It is pathetic that so many white, male billionaires will pretend to take the high road “exploring the various political outcomes” of the “Epstein dossier”. As if it were a sacred scroll .. ?!????

These disgusting individuals are more than happy to avoid the real issues which you have concisely summarized. But let us not fall into their shallow trap. And I hope that other brave American women will follow your lead, by NOT allowing maggots to determine the agenda. These amoral and cruel people should not even be allowed at the discussion table!

Hopefully there will be many more town halls etc at which you and other brave, articulate women can demand justice and a reckoning from the countless male culprits who have preyed (and still do) on so many vulnerable women. Judgment Day cannot come fast enough.

Keep up your great work.

Yet we know women who've voted for that PO💩. In my family they've always voted Republican and just recently found out just how racist they are! Three in my family including me, voted Dem. We vote Dem because Dems help the disadvantaged and working class.

This is spot on.l and let us not continue allowing the elite to get off Scott free.

Support these women (previously teenagers) and listen to their stories, and don’t be duped by the male counterparts who cover up these stories.

People apparently are afraid to say outright--that Donald Trump probably sexually abused young girls when he was hanging out with his best friend, Jeffrey Epstein. So...sue me!

Of course! Exactly! There's bucks to be made by elite men, some of whom are not white these days: Capitalism drives this world we live in and it's not about to let just anybody into its game.

I've been learning about Socialism and it's not what Capitalism wants you to believe. Note please that I'm telling you what I understand Socialism to be. These words are mine. I AM NOT QUOTING. So far I've read only one book, The ABCs of Socialism. For information about it visit <jacobinmag.com/reading-groups/

Socialism is a system in which everyone who is affected by a decision has an equal say/vote in what that decision will be. Health. Housing. Education. Working conditions - especially working conditions: wages/hours/production goals/safety. Those decisions will be made by those who provide the labor to transform materials as well as those who provide the money to purchase the materials and the space in which the transfomatio: the work! is perfomed. The money and the labor need each other. Money and labor are both capable of understanding that they need each other. Both are capable of learning to treat each other with empathy and respect for there mutual benefit - IMO

This is definitely a very horrible day and time in our country to have a criminal felon, sexual predator, MAGA crime boss running our country is so devastating! So many of us are just shockingly overwhelmed by the sickness in our country’s morality that we are witnessing!

Absolutely! My feelings exactly 💯. I am 76 and recently had a heart attack. My blood pressure was so high I actually had an attack and in hospital. and I blame it on Trump! I have been so upset and worried since election. My Dr. said stop watching the news but not an option. I read it more than watch it now. The inhumanity of the man and his followers are despicable. Thank you all for expressing your feelings and views so eloquently. It helps us all to unite and resist.

Sarah,

Thank you and Richard for an in-depth dialogue in which you re-centered the focus of the Epstein saga, and for its multiple connections to our national history and current culture of raw dehumanization. We are counting votes and clicks, instead of criminalizing criminals.
