The Media Is Wrong: Debating Biden Is More Dangerous For Trump
Much of the corporate media harbors the delusion that Trump is someone who should worry Biden on the debate stage, when the opposite is true. Trump should fear debating Biden.

The Media’s Narrative Versus Debate Reality
Biden and Trump have agreed to debate on June 27 and September 10. Debates are good for democracy. Well, debates that focus on the issues and allow voters to see the candidates and their positions are good for democracy.
What the presidential debates have become in the last few election cycles are made for TV events where American democracy is treated like a primetime NFL game.
There are pregame shows and loud crowds and hype, lots of hype. What has been missing is actual substance and a discussion of the issues between the candidates.
The debates were useless as a tool to inform voters. A 2019 study found that the debates had shockingly little impact on the outcome of a presidential election.
Yet, the media treats these debates as vital, and even more absurdly, many have latched on to a Trump-pushed narrative that it is dangerous for Biden to debate Trump.
However, there is little in the way of facts to back up this claim.
Biden’s campaign scored several key victories ahead of the first debate. Biden got the debates to happen earlier. The Biden campaign believes that the debates need to be held earlier because people vote earlier. The Biden campaign argues what is the point of holding debates after many or most Americans have already voted?
The Biden point is one that political scientists and experts have made for years. People should see the candidate before they vote, not after.
The Biden campaign's win was that the debate setup would be more serious. There won’t be a loud audience in attendance. The debate will take place in a TV studio in Atlanta, and we all know that without a crowd, Trump comes off as bored and disinterested in debates.
Candidates’ microphones will also be cut if they don’t follow the debate rules. Donald Trump’s entire debate strategy is to bellow, bluster, and talk over everyone and everything. Any debate that removes that strategy from Trump will benefit President Biden.
This debate structure, on the surface, favors President Biden, so why does the media think that debate is dangerous for the President?
