The media is downplaying Trump's threats against democracy as they are repeating the mistakes of enabling Trump by not taking his statements seriously.

The Media Says Trump Is Just Trolling

On Wednesday morning CNN’s Kristen Holmes discussed Trump's recent Truth Social posts and said:

I think this is threefold. One is that the main word is revenge and Donald Trump, as you just showed in various clips, has made it clear that part of his campaign messaging is revenge. So that is part of posting this. The other part is he is trolling his critics. There has been a lot of talk in the media and he has gotten more attention since he said those dictator comments, he would only be a dictator day one. This is his way of trolling his critics, trolling the media, any of his rivals, putting it out there without any context.

The last part is that some of the other words on there, power, economy, those are words that he believes his Republican base wants to see, the voters want someone who is strong. So he is looking at those words as well. But overall, this is more of a trolling strategy than an actual political strategy.

Have these people been paying attention to Trump’s statements? Donald Trump is making it clear that he is not kidding.

There is an entire plan being put together for the gutting of the federal government so that Trump can replace career civil servants with loyalists who will carry out his orders. The 2025 Project is not trolling.

It was revealing that CNN spent the rest of the segment focused on how Biden is in trouble in the election, even though the President currently leads in the majority of the polling, and the coverage was dedicated to the horserace and pushing the theory that the 2024 election will be a referendum on Biden, not Trump.

The point isn’t to pick on CNN but to use the CNN segment as an example of how the media has learned nothing and is enabling Trump with their coverage.
