The House that Trump built

Kevin McCarthy shamelessly caved to Trump fanatics and insurrectionists last night. The Republican brand has been permanently stained for at least a generation.

After 15 globally humiliating rounds, Kevin McCarthy got his long-wished for prize. He is now the Speaker of the House, but in name only.

The real Speaker is now Donald Trump, and whatever foreign power can own him.

Late Friday evening, a fight almost broke out on the House floor after Matt Gaetz denied McCarthy the Speakership by one vote after McCarthy crossed the floor to prostrate himself before Gaetz and Lauren Boehbert, like a Submissive to the Dom House Freedom Caucus.
