The Failure of Civility Politics
The era of civility politics is a complete failure, exploited by corrupt politicians and media elites to the detriment of every day Americans. Democrats own this, too.

Civility politics is what got us Merrick Garland for Attorney General, who waited years before appointing a special counsel to investigate ex-president Donald Trump for his part in the deadly insurrection of 1/6, along with other election related charges.
Civility politics can now, with hindsight, be translated to mean “politics to protect elites”.
This failure, the failure to hold (largely) Republicans accountable for decades of criminal politics from Nixon to Trump and election interference, is unforgivable. And it is the one area where Democrats have completely failed the American people.
To be clear, Democrats aren’t to blame for the behavior of Republicans; but they are to blame for prioritizing looking nice and respectful over speaking the truth.
An example of this is the recent claims that this election was fair and the over 42 bomb threats aimed at Democratic strongholds and majority Black districts didn’t impact the election. We actually have no way of knowing how much or if these threats impacted voter turnout. Did these folks who claim that the threats had no impact go around and interview everyone who was evacuated from a polling place in Atlanta to see if they came back? Did they interview all of the voters who heard about this around the country and decided to not go vote? Of course not.
And why would the Russians issue noncredible bomb threats if they weren’t going to be effective intimidation tools? Just wasting their time and having fun?
Democrats are so eager to not appear to be election deniers that they won’t even ask questions about obvious interference, including the reported 6.5 hour lines at a Pennsylvania university.
This conflation of “election denier” with anyone who speaks up about events we all witnessed happening in real time is frankly cowardly and useless. No, it’s not election denialism to speak up for voters who were disenfranchised. It’s not being ‘like Trump’ to demand a recount. Trump not only demanded recounts and filed worthless lawsuits often based on fictionalized events, but he also stands accused of staging a violent coup in an effort to retain power not willfully given to him by the people.
Democrats are great on issues. They have been, under President Joe Biden and Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, exceptional at policy legislation and getting judicial nominees confirmed through the Senate. In fact, on Friday Biden made his fifty-sixth round of nominees for federal judicial positions, which brings his announced federal judicial nominees to 261.
