Donald Trump is a person with very limited political skills. He won a presidential election more by fluke, with a big assist from Russia and the corporate media, than talent. Over the last decade-plus of his rise into national politics, Trump has demonstrated no creativity or ability to think on his feet.

When Biden stepped aside and Kamala Harris quickly became the presumptive nominee, Trump panicked and went through all of his usual tactics. Trump tried to recycle one of his old nicknames and hang it on Harris, but that didn’t stick. The ex-president then used an attack that he tried on President Biden and deemed Harris an extreme leftist and a Marxist, but those stale old lines didn’t work either.
