The American People Are Donating Their Food And Rent Money To Support Texas Democrats
Texas House Minority Leader Gene Wu said on Saturday that the Democrats fighting for democracy are being supported by people who are donating their food and rent money to help them.

Texas Democrats are changing the rules of engagement, and by volunteering to be the tip of the spear in the fight for democracy, they are incurring immense personal and financial expense. Members of the Texas legislature are only paid $600/month plus a per diem when they are in session. These legislators have other jobs that many of them probably can’t work at if they are out of the state to deny Republicans a quorum to pass their gerrymandered congressional district map.
As I pointed out in my most recent video, this is like a strike, except the Texas Democrats are on strike to protect democracy for us all.
I called for a democracy fund to be set up to support the Texas Democrats, and it turns out that many Americans are stepping up to help.
