While Elon Musk is busy looting the United States and your data, Tesla sales plunged nearly 60% in Germany in January.
“Observers have linked Tesla's troubles with CEO Elon Musk's support for the German far right. While EV sales have fallen across the board, Tesla has lost the most ground,” Reuters observed dryly.

The data tells the story:
Tesla sales plummeted in Germany in January, according to official data, after billionaire Elon Musk threw his full support behind the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.
Germany's Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) reported that there were just 1,277 new Tesla vehicles registered in January, down 59.5% from the same month in 2024.
Tesla had previously been the biggest electric vehicle brand, but is now the third due to the nearly 60% drop in sales.
Yes, it’s true that there’s been a drop across the board in Germany due to the cessation of government subsidies, but “no other electric vehicle brand lost as much ground as Tesla.”
NAZIS NOT POPULAR IN EUROPE
Musk has a brand issue, especially in Europe, where they are less tolerant of Nazis than apparently we are here (and to be clear, they’re right: Nazis should be shunned).
Just two days after the inauguration, which is when Elon Musk gave his “Nazi salute,” activists “Led by Donkeys” projected an image of his raised-arm salute and the word "Heil" onto the outside of a Tesla plant in Berlin.
They wrote, “We were up on Elon Musk's Tesla Gigafactory in Berlin detailing his boosting of far-right figures across Europe.”
France 24 reported:
The word "heil" is seen projected onto the factory near Berlin in the font of the automaker's logo, to spell the message "Heil Tesla", a reference to the Nazi greeting that honoured Adolf Hitler.
Philipp Ruch, founder of the Center for Political Beauty, said in comments to AFP that Musk had given "a Hitler salute, just like American neo-Nazis have been practising for years".
Musk has described the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party as the "last ray of hope for the country,” leaving no doubt about his vision for global domination by the far-right. And during a virtual appearance at a campaign event for Germany's far-right AfD party, just before Holocaust Remembrance Day, Musk said that Germany should get over "past guilt."
