The September 1, 2025 nationwide events were organized by the AFL-CIO, the National Education Association, May Day Strong, 50501, No Kings, the American Federation of Teachers, MoveOn, Public Citizen, and the Working Families Party. They demand not only stronger worker protections, but are also opposing the policies of the Trump administration and the influence over the Trump administration by billionaire oligarchs.

While the size of the protests ebbs and flows, there is a consistent drumbeat of dissent. It’s easy to look at our country right now and see all that’s wrong with it, but these gatherings are a show of what’s right with it.
Peaceful people standing together to demand better show the best of us.

It is disgusting how little coverage the protests are getting and are being underestimated in turnout numbers. Nationwide, there were more than a million participants in over 1,000 venues. The "tea-party" protests, which were nowhere near these numbers, had constant coverage by all the media. People are completely dissatisfied with this corrupt administration and are showing it daily; the media needs to cover it and show the disgust. Shameful!
