This is an historic site, where one of our bravest American sheroes - Harriet Tubman - waged her lifelong war of resistance against slavery. She worked in conjunction with local Quaker minister Thomas Garrett to bring to these banks of the Cristina River women and men escaping “up South” en route to freedom in Pennsylvania.
