Senator Who Has Been To Classified Iran Briefings Calls Trump Delusional
Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) is opposing the Department of Defense's request for more Iran war funds and is calling Trump's statements on the war delusional.
There is a lot that doesn’t make sense about Donald Trump’s war of choice against Iran. Trump claims that the war is already won while escalating military action. If the war is already won, why is the United States waging more war?

It appears that the Trump administration has no objectives to accomplish or benchmarks for the Iran war. Why is the United States fighting this war? The reason seems to change almost daily, and no one within the administration is the least bit consistent about what would represent victory.
One of the big differences between the Iraq war and the current Iran war is that Democrats are refusing to vote to fund it.
ABC’s Jon Karl asked Sen. Chris Van Hollen about the request for $200 billion to fund the war, “in the time we have left -- on the war, they are preparing a budget request. Pentagon has suggested $200 billion. We don’t know what it’s going to be. Do you -- do you think that -- does that -- I know you’re opposed. Does that pass?”
Van Hollen answered:
Well, I hope not because I don’t think we should be providing more money for an illegal war of choice to a president who promised during the campaign that he would not drag America into new wars, especially in the Middle East and a war that is now making us less, not more safe and has already cost American lives, is costing billions of dollars every day, oil and gas prices are going up.
So the president who said he was going to focus on bringing down prices and ending foreign wars has started foreign wars along with Prime Minister Netanyahu and prices are going through the roof. So no, we should not keep funding an illegal war of choice that’s making us less safe.
Things got very interesting when Sen. Van Hollen was asked about the Iran briefings that he has received.
