Senate Republicans Will Keep The Filibuster
As the new political dynamics begin to take shape, there have been some surprising moves. Trump’s MAGA base is getting increasingly upset by some of the cabinet choices he is making who are establishment Republicans.
House Democrats will be in the minority again, but barely, and as Trump keeps raiding the House, Mike Johnson is going to struggle for months to pass much of anything.
The worst-case scenario for Democrats would have been for Republicans to control everything and decide to get rid of the filibuster.
That is not going to happen.
Thune was asked, "Do you plan on keeping the legislative filibuster?"
He answered with a flat, "Yes."
